You won’t believe it but there are beauty brands that have been on the market for over 50 years and they have maintained their popularity for decades. Let’s see what beautiful Latin women choose to put on their face and body every day and the successful Latin companies behind them.
Let’s start with Belcorp, a Peruvian firm founded in 1968. Since then, Belcorp has dominated the Latin beauty industry launching various beauty brands all over the continent using their direct-sales model.
L’Bel was born as Ebel in Colombia in 1985. The company had to change the name to avoid problems with a watch-making Swiss company with the same name. In our opinion, L’Bel sounds even better as it means “her beauty” in French, and everybody knows that everything that sounds French combines really well with beauty products. Striking lipsticks are their signature products.
Ésika is another Belcorp brand, launched only in 2003. “My expression, my choice” is their attractive motto and no wonder that the brand quickly grew in popularity. It sells everything from makeup to perfumes, including skin care and body care products. Latin women love it because of its great diversity of products.
Cyzone is directed to younger Latin American customers and since the 90’s it has been sculpting the beauty standards in Latin minds. It has a strong Instagram presence and its motto is “Dare with attitude”. Millennials love it.
Natura is the main rival of the big Peruvian company. Headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it has also been on the market for over 50 years. As many other beauty companies, it offers products that range from makeup to perfumes, but its popularity grew with its Ekos line. In a time when caring about nature is so trendy, the products that promise to connect your inner self with the Amazon Forest are very convincing. Natura also owns The Body Shop now and they do not test any of their products on animals.
Ayres is an interesting company on the market. Based in Argentina, this beauty line does really well, staying faithful to its local culture. The names of their products make references to Tango and the Argentine countryside (“Pampas Sunrise!”) and transmit a sophisticated but fresh look. The brand focuses on body products and offers anything from creams to soaps. Its founder, Alejandro Rasic, wanted to convey his love of his home land and we cannot deny his success.
Cadiveu Professional is another brand from Brazil, although its name sounds French, probably for the reasons we´ve mentioned before. The company offers hair care products and you will feel overwhelmed by their wide range of treatments, conditioners, masks and many other products.
