Even some singers who have made their artistic careers in the United States, have managed to stand out by showing off their Latino heritage.

1. J Balvin, 57.8 million monthly listeners

His real name is José Álvaro Osorio Balvin and he was born in Medellín, Colombia. His solo career began in 2004, when he was 19 years old.

Although he recorded his first album in 2009, he kept releasing singles from the beginning. So far, he has 6 albums in total. Since 2014, he has been nominated 20 times for the Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, in the urban genre.

2. Bad Bunny, 45.1 million monthly listeners

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio is from Puerto Rico and is an important exponent of trap music. In the beginning he posted his own compositions on social media, until in 2016 he joined the record label Hear This Music to launch the famous trap anthem “La occasion”.

In 2017, he managed to position 15 of his songs on the Hot Latin Song list of Hispanic radio stations in the United States. Up to date he has recorded 4 albums and continues to be unstoppable.

Definitely the Puerto Rican Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez is one of the pioneers of reggaeton, being the one who popularized it inside and outside of Latin America in the 90s. His album “Barrio Fino” was the one that opened the way for this Latin genre to the world. In fact, it is considered the best album of all time, within its category.

Her full name is Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, she was born in Cuba and her father is Mexican. She is a pop and R&B singer with Latin music influences. Her fame began as part of the American musical group Fifth Harmony.

Paying tribute to her Cuban roots with her song “Havana”, this powerful artist kicked off her solo career in style and has continued to grow stronger. The Puerto Rican Emmanuel Gazney Santiago, began his musical career in 2011 with the genres of reggaeton, trap and rap. But it was in 2016 when he became known worldwide with the song “La ocasión”, which featured the participation of Ozuna, De La Ghetto and Arcángel. He has two record albums: “Real hasta la muerte” and “Emmanuel”.
